How to get tax exemption

In order for Techstreet to recognize your organization's tax exempt status, you will need to submit your tax exempt information for our files.

How can I submit my tax exempt information?

Techstreet makes it easy to submit your tax exempt information during the checkout process. Under Step 4 -€“ Payment Method, check the "I want to apply for tax exempt status"€ checkbox. This will trigger our Tax Exemption Form to load at the end of the checkout process. To reach the form, first complete Step 4 -€“ Payment Method and Step 5 -€“ Review & Confirm. The Tax Exemption Form will load after you confirm the order in Step 5. Techstreet will not process your order until after we have validated your tax exempt status.

What information do I need to provide?

You will need to provide your Tax ID, the Effective Date for your tax exemption status, and a phone number where we can contact you with any questions. Most importantly, you will need to upload your tax exemption certificate to validate your tax exempt status. The certificate should be signed and dated with the current year, and made out to Clarivate Analytics (US) LLC.

What happens next?

The validation process can take, on average, from 24 to 72 hours, depending on the number of tax exemption applications already in the queue when we receive yours. Once your exemption has been validated, Techstreet will open and process your order. If you checked the €"Contact me about this order" checkbox€ in the Tax Exemption form, we will contact you before processing your order. Otherwise, you will receive an email noting that your tax exempt status has been approved. The email will include a link to the original order you placed, and you can complete it with no taxes applied. Going forward, your organization will receive tax exemption on all of your Techstreet orders automatically* until your certificate expires.

*When placing online orders you must be logged in to your Techstreet account for your validated exemption to be applicable. Exemption will only apply to those orders with a shipping address in the state referenced on your exemption certificate.
