Full Description

Energy Conservation in any system can be accomplished by revising operating parameters, substitution of low grade, inexpensive energy for more costlier, scarcer types of energy, and recovery and reuse of energy normally discharged. The energy used in a rotating solid sorption dehumidifier is primarily heat, which is required to regenerate the desiccant.

This paper will discuss energy efficiency as a function of the degree of dryness produced in an air stream with particular emphasis on reduction of this energy by using a sorption dehumidifier reactivated by inexpensive energy such as solar hot water, waste steam or recovered process exhaust heat.
