The new electro-static discharge (ESD) research has helpedto quantify the ESD risks associated with lower level humidity levels in thedata center, and has concurrently shown other approaches to mitigating damageto IT equipment from ESD events. This research provides guidance for theoperation of data centers in the new ASHRAE A3 and A4 environmental conditions.
