About This Item

Full Description

A spray evaporation experiment was conducted using commercial nozzles distributing liquid ammonia on a horizontal, plain stainless steel tube with a from 0.0138 to 0.0777 kg/(s.m). The saturation temperature was tested from - 23.3degC to 10degC, and the heat flux was tested from 8 to 60kW/m2. The effects of heat flux, saturation temperature, spray flow rate, and nozzle height were investigated. Both standard-angle and wide-angle commercial nozzles were tested. The results are compared with pool boiling data obtained in the present experiment and previously published pool boiling and spray evaporation results.
