The international auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in South African has taken occupation of the brand new modern office building in November 2016, a project that deserves global recognition. The new iconic 26 storey PwC head office is showcasing on the global prospectus with a beautiful “twisty” high rise tower architectural design which gently twists through in height with the top and ground floor rotated by 30 degrees. Keeping South Africa’s environmental challenges of water scarcity and limited electricity supply in mind, the new energy efficient air-conditioning system is a low water and electricity consumption 4 pipe chilled and hot water system. Using two new state of the art water cooled chillers plus three new multifunction 4-pipe units’, the carbon footprint of the building is substantially reduced compared to most other buildings in the area. At the same time the annual on-site water consumption is also reduced. The efficient building design hoasts numerous innovative and energy saving technologies which contributes to the measured low energy consumption as well as the excellent occupancy comfort and environmental quality.
