THE GRINDING PROCESS IS FORMULATED AS A MULTIOBJECTIVE MIXED INTEGER NONLINEAR PROBLEM. A SET OF EIGHT NONDIMINATED SOLUTIONS WAS FOUND AFTER THE OFF-LINE OPTIMIZATION OF THE PROCESS. SOLUTIONS FOR MINIMUM DAMAGE ARE SPECIALLY HIGHLIGHTED. MODELS WERE ESTABLISHED BY THE REGRESSION ANALYSIS OF THE EXPERIMENTAL DATA BASED ON A FRACTIONAL FACTORIAL DESIGN.
