Occupants are one of the greatest influences of building energy use. Even with modern automation, emerging evidence suggests that occupants are often dissatisfied with automation and may intervene. The IEA-EBC Annex 79 explores the tradeoff between building automation and manual systems to optimize occupant comfort and health, and energy efficiency. This seminar will in particular showcase subtask 4 of the Annex, which focuses on case studies and real world implementation of occupant-centric
control.
