Describes a system-based optimal control methodology for application to larger-scale HVAC and building systems with multiple state and control variables. The aim is to present the system-based approach and to demonstrate optimal control response in which operating costs are minimised and energy is used efficiently without sacrificing comfort and functionality of the occupied zones.
