About This Item

Full Description

This aerospace standard outlines minimum quality assurance requirements common to commodities which must be met by a "value added" distributor for third party accreditation. Requirements peculiar to a specific commodity are outlined in the document applicable to that commodity and the accredited distributor shall be listed in the appropriate qualified manufacturers list (QML). For purposes of this standard, a value added distributor shall a. not affect the specification conformance of the product as imparted by the manufacturer; b. maintain on file and, if required, provide the purchaser with unchanged copies of the documentation created and provided by the original manufacturer and that establishes traceability for specification conformance; c. provide certification to ensure that product quality has been maintained; and d. be allowed to cut, repackage, or perform other value added services to the original shipment without adversely affecting specification conformance, environmental protection, age control, traceability, or manufacturer's warranty. Manufacturers accredited under this document are automatically accredited to AS7201
