About This Item

Full Description

This specification has been declared "CANCELLED" by the Aerospace Materials Division, SAE, as of January 2013. By this action, this document will remain listed in the Numercial Section of the Index of Aerospace Material Specifications indicating that is has been "CANCELLED."

This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of bars, wire, forgings, and forging stock.

These products have been used typically for heat-treated parts requiring a combination of high strength and high toughness up to 800 \mDF (427 \mDC) with good ductility and strength in the transverse direction, but usage is not limited to such applications.

Certain design, processing procedures, or environmental conditions may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP1110 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
