Leqionella pneumophila is part of the natural aquatic ecosystem and is subject to natural biological and environmental fluctuations. The use of systems that amplify and disseminate the organism during their operation are extremely important for industrial complexes to assess and control. The analysis of 700 different industrial heat rejection systems for the presence of Leqionella pneumophila is discussed along with effective control measures to keep a system "free" from the bacterium.
