New symbols relating to Homeland Security added!

Broader in scope to reflect recent increased safety and security challenges, the new name for NFPA 170 reflects added coverage of emergency symbols. The Standard now presents uniform symbols used for fire safety, emergency, and associated hazards. It is intended for the general public and the fire service, as well as for architectural and engineering drawing, insurance diagrams, fire fighting operations, and pre-incident planning sketches.

The 2006 edition has a new Chapter 8 "Symbology for Emergency Management Mapping". This collection of symbols from the Homeland Security Working Group from FEMA provides important information for damage assessment related to Homeland Security.
