Purpose

AJP-6 is prepared under the direction of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Standardization Office/Military Committee Joint Standardization Board and provides a joint force commander with the guidance and information necessary to establish effective, resilient, and persistent CIS in, and for, an Allied joint force. AJP-6 sets forth joint doctrine to govern the activities and performance of NATO forces in operations and provides the doctrinal basis for coordination among NATO, NATO nations, and non-NATO entities.
