Scope

To prescribe the format and contents of software management plans. A software management plan is the controlling document for managing a software project; it provides the technical and managerial activities necessary to satisfy the requirements for the software project.

Purpose

To provide a uniform scheme to prepare and present a software project management plan. Revision to reflect experience of the past 5 years of use.

Abstract

Revision Standard - Superseded. The format and contents of software project management plans, applicable to any type or size of software project, are described. The elements that should appear in all software project management plans are identified.
