The occurrence of semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in indoor environments is emerging as an important research topic, but SVOCs have not been studied as widely as other classes of indoor pollutants. This month’s column describes SVOCs and their health effects and the role HVAC systems can play in controlling the occupants’ exposure to SVOCs.
