Full Description

In part one of this paper, it was pointed out that a knowledge of the cooling is required to jet performance allow the designer of the spot cooling system to integrate the jet properties at its outlet (D0 1 V0 , T0 and P0 or rh0 ) with the air properties of the industrial environment (TA and PA or rhA ) and predict the average air properties (Vi. Tis and Pi or rhi ) at the target area to which the worker will be exposed. Also in part one, a procedure was presented that allows the designer to identify different combinations of Vi. Ti and Pi that can result in the same degree of acceptable physiological strain. In this second part of the paper, a jet model is identified and a step-by-step procedure is outlined for integrating the information in part one with the jet model to design the spot cooling system. Several case studies using the proposed design procedure also are presented.
