The overall objective of this document is to provide design activities or integrated product teams (IPTs) with fastener subsystem standard policies and design information; it documents selection and application information for fastening systems and procedures so the designers or IPTs can achieve an optimum balance of performance, reliability, and standardization with minimum cost, logistic inventory and maintenance.
