Full Description

A mathematical model describing the spatial and time distribution of energy due to lighting has been used to predict room cooling loads and total cooling loads for a variety of building-lighting arrangements, airflow paths and rates, and lighting duration. Based on these predictions, coefficients for the Z-transfer function have been derived. Included in the paper are recommendations for design cooling load calculations and examples illustrating the use of the Z-transfer function coefficients in determining room and total cooling loads.
