1. Scope

1.1

This Standard applies to hand- or tool-applied pressure splicing wire and cable connectors intended for use with copper or aluminum, or both, insulated conductors in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

1.2

The splicing wire and cable connectors are intended for use with any combination of the following conductors: Nos. 22 - 10 AWG solid and stranded copper; Nos. 8 - 6 AWG stranded copper; Nos. 12 - 10 AWG solid aluminum conductor material (ACM); and Nos. 8 - 6 AWG stranded aluminum or aluminum conductor material (ACM).

1.3

The splicing wire and cable connectors are intended for copper-to-copper or aluminum-to-aluminum conductor combinations. This Standard also covers copper-to-aluminum combinations intended for dry locations only.
