Full Description

Scope

1.1 This Standard applies to unit equipment intended for connection to circuits with nominal voltages of 600 V and less, and intended for installation indoors in nonhazardous locations in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

1.2 This Standard applies to unit equipment intended to provide illumination in the event of a failure of the normal power supply.

1.3 This Standard includes requirements for the construction and test of unit equipment to ascertain its freedom from fire and shock hazards and to ensure that it has a minimum capability for performing its intended function.

1.4 This Standard does not apply to equipment in which the rated output current exceeds 30 A or the nominal voltage at the output exceeds 30 V.
