Full Description

A major problem facing design engineers is the proper application of acoustical ratings in predicting the sound levels in an occupied space. A joint committee of the ADC (Air Diffusion Council) and ARI (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute) has been formed to prepare an acoustical application standard listing recommended application procedures. Designated Industry Standard 885, this standard is currently in the final stages of development.

The standard will outline suggested procedures for calculating room sound pressure levels using sound ratings determined in accord with established rating standards.
