About This Item

Full Description

In recent years, incidents have occurred that have been attributed to the improper application and maintenance of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder and CG-7 pressure relief valve (PRV) package. The purpose of this publication is to provide reference material and guidelines to personnel who fill, store, and distribute LPG or maintain and refurbish LPG cylinders. This information will promote the safe and proper filling and handling of LPG cylinders as well as the proper selection, handling and maintenance of the CG-7 PRV. This information is limited to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Transport Canada (TC) refillable cylinder designs.

This publication does not address overfill protection devices (OPD). (For information on OPD, see National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 58, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code).
