The guide covers legislation and financial assistance, outlines pattern of standardization now being followed by the industry within the framework of BSI organization, and a typical diary of events for the change to metric within a shipyard. Appendices cover SI units and their marine industry application, giving examples of areas of use and worked calculations in comparable units.
