The standard was first made January 1975 with the revision approved February 1982. ANSI approved it in February 1982. Provided is a history of the standard and information supplied by the purchaser, metrication and the major revisions. This standard pertains to encoder- type remote-registration systems for use on cold-water meters for water- utility customer service and the materials and workmanship employed in their fabrication and assembly. Included are sections on the following: references, definitions, and affidavit of compliance, materials, design including receptacle assembly, portable data-acquisition assembly (PDAU), portable visual-display unit (PVDU), and error indication.
