About This Item

Full Description

Experiments were conducted on both source and treated waters from four different locations to study the formation kinetics of dihaloacetic acids (DXAAs) during chloramination. The effects of treatment, pH, bromide concentration, temperature, and periods of free chlorination on formation kinetics were evaluated. DXAA formation kinetics were determined to be quite rapid and prechlorination was found to significantly increase HAA formation. Includes 10 references, tables, figures.
