About This Item

Full Description

States that space conditioning systems for sports arenas, in particular ice skating rinks, have a history of high energy consumption and repeated humidity-related operating problems. Conventional vapour compression equipment maintains space conditions in a skating rink between 10 - 15.6degC at a relative humidity of 65%-75%. This results in air so close to saturation that it precipitates, forming fog over the rink and condensation inside the building and on the ice sheet. States that a desiccant dehumidifier maintains relative humidity at 30%-40%, which eliminates the fog, condensation and high energy consumption.

KEYWORDS: Dehumidifiers, desiccants, relative humidity, ice rinks, condensation, energy consumption.
