It specifies minimum stitch density for seams, hems, button holes and button sewing, for reinforcing of points such as the corners or ends of pockets, belt loops, button holes and the shoulders of cardigans and sweaters. It also sets a minimum depth for hems on dresses, skirts and trousers and slacks.
