Specifies general requirements for type-tested and partially type-tested switchgear and controlgear assemblies for rated voltages up to 1000 volt a. c. and rated frequencies up to 1000 Hz or rated voltages up to 1500 volt d. c. Applies to assemblies having current ratings of 100 A and above or rated prospective short-circuit currents of 5 kA and above in connection with generation, transmission, distribution and conversion of electric energy and for the control of electric energy consuming equipment.
