About This Item
Full Description
Crossflow coil dynamics have been recently studied by Gartner et al. and Tamm et al. The work of Gartner has dealt primarily with serpentine configurations and Tamm has extended the same model for theoretical analysis of multi-row crossflow coils of the type shown in Fig. 1, which are generally found in commercial applications. This paper represents the culmination of one portion of the work on multi-row crossflow heat exchange dynamics, namely experimental verification of the theoretical model with pure heat transfer, with water as the primary fluid and air as the secondary fluid. The theoretical model can now be used in simulating air conditioning systems or sub-systems and an example of this, an air discharge control system, is induded here.
