An R22 exergy-enthalpy diagram and a saturated thermodynamic property table in SI system based on the equations of state by Oguchi et al1 are presented. In order to make the diagram and table applicable to various ambient temperatures, two auxiliary diagrams are devised.

The application of the e-h diagram is demonstrated by an exergy analysis of a two-stage compression and one-stage throttling refrigeration cycle of R22.

From the diagram presented, the process quantites such as energy transfer and the exergy loss can be determined very easily and quickly and with reasonable accuracy for practical purposes.
