About This Item

Full Description

This paper is the fourth in a series (1) which describes the results of an experimental program to determine how various parameters affect the air, distribution performance of different types of air distribution systems. Earlier papers by Nevins and Ward1 and Miller and Nevins (2,3) presented results for ventilating ceilings and cone-type circular ceiling diffusers. In these papers the Air Distribution Performance Index (ADPI) was demonstrated to be a valid single number rating index for the performance of air distribution systems. The current paper will present the ADPI values obtained while using high sidewall grilles, sill grilles, ceiling slots and light troffer diffusers, for various air flow rates and room loads.
