Sintering Science: A Historical Perspective, traces the history of sintering science from key early developments, outlines the core sintering models, and projects forward. It helps understand the eventual success of computer simulations, as well as the inherent limitations. Coverage includes the materials and phenomenological observations that emerged long before modern conceptualizations. It builds from his recent book, Sintering: From Empirical Observations to Scientific Principles, which hinted at the history of sintering. Several individuals were critical to advancing sintering concepts; remarkable stories emerge on these personalities and egos. To help document the history of sintering science, about one hundred profiles are included to note the imprints made by core individuals.
