Full Description

Measurement of laminar burning speed is a costly and time-consuming process. It was investigated to find an alternative approach to estimate the laminar burning speeds of refrigerants using the fundamental combustion properties such as Minimum Ignition Energy (MIE). Relationships between laminar burning speed and MIE have been studied. Two different correlations between laminar burning speed and minimum ignition energy have been developed. The first correlation was of the form Sl = a MIE-1/3 and the second one was of the form Sl =bMIEc, where a, b and c are constants. The accuracies of these fits were close to each other.
