About This Item
Full Description
Presents the development of a rule-based fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and discusses three important elements that have a critical influence on the behaviour of FLCs - the rule set, membership functions, and scale factors. Before the discussion, a survey of FLCs is presented. In the companion paper (Huang and Nelson 1994), the multilevel-relay feature is analysed for FLCs and the FLC is experimentally compared with a proportional-integral-derivative controller (PID).
