Codes and standards published by NFPA are displayed as read-only under license from NFPA solely for use within this system. NFPA material may not be downloaded, printed, reproduced, or transferred.

NFPA 259 test method provides a means of determining, under controlled laboratory conditions, the potential heat of building materials subjected to a defined high-temperature exposure condition.

This text method yields a property-type measurement of the amount of heat that can potentially be given off by building materials when exposed to a heat source.

Changes to this edition clarify provisions, improve readability, and facilitate cross-referencing with other NFPA codes.
