As wildland fire fighters face increased challenges, NFPA 1051 helps ensure they are prepared and respond to incidents safely and effectively.

Revised and updated based on the evolving needs of today's wildland fire fighters, NFPA 1051: Standard for Wildland Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications updates the minimum job performance requirements necessary to perform the duties as a wildland fire fighter and fire officer.

Critical additions to the 2012 edition of NFPA 1051 include:

• Wildland Fire Fighter I requisite knowledge and skills requirements, including patrolling a fire area, establishing command presence, communicating with supervisors and other crews, providing logistics, deploying resources, completing operations, and developing an initial report
• Wildland Fire Officer II requisite knowledge and skills requirement concerning evaluating the need and location for incident facilities

Update to the 2012 NFPA 1051 now to ensure wildland fire fighters have the knowledge and skills required for all levels of wildland fire fighting operations.
