This paper presents the results of a study to investigate and recommend procedures for controlling chemical contaminant emissions from activities in histology, cytology, pathology, and nuclear medicine laboratories in hospitals. Suggested control measures typically include enclosure and local exhaust ventilation of contaminant sources. However, the paper also addresses the design, location, and recommended features of exhaust discharge and air supply systems.
