Full Description

This paper compares the measured actual performance of a radiant cooling ceiling system with detailed simulations of a conventional forced air system during a cooling season in an Arizona residence. In particular, thermal comfort, cooling energy consumption, peak demands, and peak time of the residence for the radiant cooling ceiling system and for the conventional forced air system are compared using three different control strategies. In addition, cooling energy costs are compared using various utility rate structures.
