    • standard incandescent lamps
    • tungsten halogen lamps and low-voltage lamp transformers
    • linear and compact fluorescent lamps and ballasts
    • high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps and ballasts
    • LED sources and drivers
    • Induction and plasma sources and auxiliaries
  • Analyze each of the above based on:
    • Common shapes, form factors, characteristics
    • Advantages and disadvantages
    • Controllability
    • Compare the efficacy of each light source and required power auxiliary equipment
    • Identify some common applications of each light source
