About This Item
Full Description
Commissioning is important for ensuring that buildings operate efficiently and provide satisfactory occupant comfort and productivity. Unfortunately, commissioning building systems can be labor intensive, limiting how widely and often it is performed. This paper presents an automated commissioningtool for the testing of variable air volume (VAV) terminal units. Multiple field demonstrations are presented including one of the tallest skyscrapers inAsia. Results found that an average 13% of VAVs had pre-existing faults. The scalability and labor savings of the method are discussed along with theresulting improvements in building energy performance and air quality.
