1. Scope

This Section of Part 2 of IEC 598 specifies requirements for stage, television, film and photographic studio luminaires (including spot and floodlighting projectors) for use, outdoor and indoor, with tungsten filament, tubular fluorescent and other discharge lamps on branch circuits not exceeding 750 V in acc ordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Part I. It is to be read in conjunction with those Sections of Part I to which reference is made.

Notes: (1) A hanger (stirrup) is a part of the luminaire. Supporting devices such as tripods, telescopic booms and suspensions are not part of the luminaire. Where applicable, ballasts are built into or mounted separately from the luminaire. (2) Manufacturers designing products for use in Canada may find a helpful summary of the equipment-related requirements of the CEC, Part I, in CSA Publication SPE-2000.

Cette section de la deuxieme partie de la Publication 598 de la CEI detaille les prescriptions applicables aux luminaires pour l'eclairage des scenes de theatre, des studios de television, de cinema et de photographie (y compris les projecteurs intensifs et extensifs), a utiliser a l'exterieur et a l'interieur avec des lampes a filament de tungstene, des lampes tubulaires a fluorescence et autres lampes a decharge sur des alimentations ne depassant pas 750 V conformement au Code canadien de l'electricite, Premiere partie.
