Full Description
Preface:
This is the first edition of CAN/CSA-C61232, Aluminium-clad steel wires for electrical purposes, which is an adoption, without modification, of the identically titled CEI/IEC (Commission Électrotechnique Internationale/International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 1232 (first edition, 1993-06).
This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on Overhead Electrical Conductors, under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Steering Committee on Power Engineering and Electromagnetic Compatibility, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. A list of the members of the Technical Committee is available upon request. This Standard has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.
Scope:
This International Standard applies to bare, hard-drawn, round, aluminum-clad wires of different electrical and mechanical properties, in the diameter ranges shown in table 5, for electrical purposes, before stranding.
It is intended to cover applications, for reinforcement in aluminum conductors and for all aluminum-clad steel stranded conductors.
It does not cover the wires for redrawing purposes.
