Identifies and illustrates how basic evaporative cooling concepts can be integrated into commonly employed HVAC systems requiring close temperature and humidity control for use in applications where evaporative cooling has generally not been considered applicable. These systems include makeup air, single-duct, dual-duct with and without face and bypass damper arrangements with either constant or variable volume. In addition illustrates the basic control scheme for each concept, including independent control of temperature and humidity where appropriate. States that evaporative cooling should be considered an energy conservation method, a way to displace or reduce mechanical cooling.
