Full Description

This specification covers external sealing bands for use in concrete pipe, manholes, and precast box sections. The sealing bands are classified into three types: Type I for sealing bands composed of rubber, mastic, and protective film elements, Type II for those made up of plastic film, reinforced, rubberized, asphalt, mastic coating with steel straps, and Type III for bands made composed of a backing band, butyl coating, and an optional release element. All sealing bands should be tested using the prescribed procedures and should conform to the physical property requirements specified for each type.
