About This Item
Full Description
This Standard is a revision of the B29.1 portion of ASME B29.100-2002 and its establishment as a separate Standard.
B29.1 Precision Power Transmission Roller Chains, Attachments and Sprockets: This Standard covers transmission roller chains, attachments, and sprockets. A roller chain is a series of alternately assembled roller links and pin links in which the pins articulate inside the bushings and the rollers are free to turn on the bushings. Pins and bushings are press fit in their respective link plates. Roller chains may be single-strand, having one row of roller links, or multiple strand, having more than one row of roller links. Tables are also provided for
(a) General chain dimensions;
(b) Maximum width over regular pin;
(c) Dimensional limits for interchangeable chain links;
(d) Straight- and bent-link plate extension dimensions;
(e) Sprocket-tooth section profile dimensions of commercial and precision sprockets;
(f) Extended pin dimensions;
(g) Maximum eccentricity and face runout tolerances for commercial and precision sprockets;
(h) Sprocket flange thickness;
(i) Seating curve dimensions and tolerances;
(j) Minus tolerances on caliper diameters of commercial and precision sprockets;
(k) Pitch diameter, outside diameter and measuring dimension factor for chain of unity pitch; and
(l) Whole depth of topping hob cut WD for each pitch and range.
The Nonmandatory Appendices have been revised.
