Full Description

ASHRAE Standard 78-1985 is intended to provide a method for measuring the flow capacity of refrigerant suction line filters and filter-driers. This standard is classified as an ASHRAE Standard Method of Test and is a revision of ASHRAE 78-74, which was issued in April 1974. The Standards Project Committee for revision was authorized in 1979 and completed its public review draft in 1981. The revised standard includes the corrections of errors and omissions in the 1974 version and the addition of SI units.

ASHRAE Standard 78-1985 was approved by the ASHRAE Standards Committee March 30, 1985, and by the ASHRAE Board of Directors June 21, 1985. It was reaffirmed by the ASHRAE Board of Directors on June 14, 1990, and approved by the American National Standards Institute on August 6, 1990. It was reaffirmed again in 1997.
