About This Item

Full Description

This revision of Standard 72 combines Standard 72-1998 for open refrigerators and Standard 117-2002 for closed refrigerators. It prescribes a uniform method of testing open and closed commercial refrigerators and freezers for rating so that comparative evaluations can be made of energy consumption, product temperature performance, refrigeration load, the suction pressures required, and other performance factors.

The standard also clarifies door opening requirements, shelf loading, and test definitions, and includes requirements that improve the consistency of ambient temperatures. This standard should be useful to the design engineer responsible for rating open or closed commercial refrigerators.
