About This Item

Full Description

This specification applies to forged eyebolts for lifting purposes having shank diameters between 1/2 inch and 3 inch. It does not apply to eyebolts without collars for lift (elevator) suspension. It refers to materials, heat treatment, dimensions, manufacture, testing and marking. The eyebolts covered in this specification are not suitable for attachment directly to a hook. They are designed for use with shackles complying with AS B278. This Standard does not recognize eyebolts in which welding has been incorporated because such welding would introduce a potential source of danger.
