AS 2596:2022 adopts and modifies UN Regulation No. 16:2020 (Rev. 10) and its Amendments 1 and 2 (2021) for Australia, which specify minimum performance requirements for seat belt assemblies and part assemblies intended for use by adults and larger children or in conjunction with certain child restraints in accordance with AS/NZS 1754 and for installation in motor vehicles.
