​Sets out general requirements for all types of safety footwear and specific requirements for heavy duty (Type 1), medium duty (Type 2), light dutywomens (Type 3) and waterproof (Type 4) footwear. Requirements for the steel toecap which must be fitted to the footwear are included, and test procedures are in appendices. Also in appendices are requirements for a steel midsole, a classification of footwear according to electrical resistance, heights for waterproof footwear, recommendations on footwear for specified work, and methods of construction with a glossary of terms.
